Thacher Associates Cited and Toby Thacher’s Comments Featured in Bloomberg News Article on Testwell Convictions
The Bloomberg News article "Testwell Vice President Guilty of Faking Safety Tests" (link to article) cited Thacher Associates' role in discovering the falsified concrete test reports and other problems when acting as an independent integrity monitor at several large construction projects in the city. Thacher Associates worked closely with the Manhattan District Attorney's Office on the case against Testwell Laboratories and its officers, and members of Thacher Associates' staff, including forensic engineers, testified at the trial on behalf of prosecutors. The article also quoted Thacher Associates' President and CEO Toby Thacher, who noted that Testwell's falsification of the concrete tests did not mean the concrete itself was unsafe.
